April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month!

Join us in spreading the word by participating in our Paint the Town Blue campaign!

Attend Go Blue Day on Friday, April 10th
Join us on the Hunt County Courthouse steps for ‘Go Blue Day’ at noon on Friday, April 10th! There will be a food truck if you’d like to grab lunch, as well as a pinwheel and flag planting to represent all children served by the CAC and CASA in 2025.

Show Your Support
Encourage your staff to wear blue once a week (example: Go Blue Tuesdays), replace outside lightbulbs with blue lights, paint your windows, hang blue bows/ribbons/curtains, or offer discounts on blue items. Get creative and show your support this April!

Participate and/or Vote in the Window/Store Display Competition
Decorate your windows, storefront, or another area of your business to bring awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month! Participants will receive a poster to display their support and be included in social media promotions by the CAC and CASA.

  • Deadline to Participate: Thursday, March 26th, 2026
Let Amy Melton (Amy.Melton@ccnetx.org) with the CAC or Lori Cope (Lori.Cope@casaforhuntcounty.org) with CASA know you’re participating by Thursday, March 26th, 2026!

Who Are We?

We are both a Children’s Advocacy Center (Hunt County Children’s Advocacy Center) and a Rape Crisis Center (Hunt County Rape Crisis Center/Crisis Center of Northeast Texas).

Children’s Advocacy Centers (commonly referred to as CACs) provide a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment where children who have experienced abuse or trauma can receive comprehensive care. CACs bring together professionals from law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, and mental health specialists to provide a coordinated response. CACs offer forensic interviews, counseling, and support to help children heal while ensuring their safety and seeking justice.

Rape Crisis Centers (commonly referred to as RCCs) are organizations that provide confidential support, advocacy, and resources to survivors of sexual assault. RCCs offer crisis intervention, counseling, and assistance navigating the justice system. They also provide education and prevention programs to raise awareness about sexual violence. The goal of an RCC is to empower survivors, promote healing, and ensure access to critical services in a safe and supportive environment.

Being both a Children’s Advocacy Center and a Rape Crisis Center allows us to provide services to:
1) child abuse victims & their non-offending caregivers
2) adult sexual assault victims
3) adults who were sexually abused as children
